When a parent calls, the first question he or she asks is how much does supervised visitation cost?   When it comes to supervised visitation services, you often get what you pay for.  Experience counts!  There is a marked difference between the services offered at Parental Dynamics versus other supervised visitation providers.

Karen Hukill is the Founder and Executive Director of Parental Dynamics, LLC.  Ms. Hukill has been working in the field of Child Custody since 1986 as a Paralegal, Domestic Violence Advocate and now a Parenting Educator.  Ms. Hukill has worked on more than 3,000 child custody cases and testified in court and at deposition many times on child custody related matters.

Fees are determined on a case-by-case basis.  Some of the factors assessed in determining fees are the dynamics of the family.  Child abuse , alcohol or drug abuse, domestic violence, threats of abduction and special needs of a child or parent are just a few issues considered in determing the fees.  Other factors considered when determining fees are the ratio of children to a monitor, level of conflict between the parties, any risks to the safety or welfare of a child, bilingual needs of the family and the locations of visitation.  All of these issues are thoroughly reviewed at the initial intake session which is held separately with each party.

Each party should determine for themselves what level of monitoring the family needs.  This is when experience counts!  Some monitors do not provide written reports.   Some monitors have never once testified in court.  Some monitors have no established protocol to prevent abduction.  Some monitors are unfamiliar in handling cases where mental illness or substance abuse may be a factor.  Some momitors have no written Guidelines for supervised visitation.   Some monitors are actually not present in the same room while the supervised visitation is ongoing.

The questions that each parent should ask himself or herself is how much would you pay to be treated with dignity and compassion?  How much is it worth to know that your child is safe?
